Couldn't really find a good spot to put this, so I'm dropping it in here.
During the flooding a couple of years ago, I was living in Pottstown in a house that was on the flood plain. Since then, I've married and am now renting an
apartment in Phoenixville, but looking for a house to buy. I'd like to stay in Phoenixville and have found some places that I like, but do not want to go
through what I want through in Pottstown again. I am really liking the neighborhoods out on the other side of Starr St, south of Bridge by the river, but am
worried that I could be 'in the path' if something like this happened again.
Can anybody tell me if this area was flooded back in '06? For that matter, what were the danger zones? I know that Mont Clare got hit, but how far did it
go?
thanks...

There are no flooding problems on the Phoenixville side of the river to the South of Bridge Street. The houses aren't anywhere near the river. The
Phoenixville side of the river has a much higher elevation than the Mont Clare side, and the elevation is pretty immediate. There are cliffs that are maybe 20
feet higher than the river. The railroad tracks run along the top of the cliffs, and between the railroad tracks and the houses there are the kindergarten
center, industrial parks, sewage plant, and borough composting site.
